Erin Flett began her career as a freelance graphic designer. After discovering silkscreening, she started printing her designs on fabric with her husband. Many years later, they now occupy a vast warehouse space overlooking Presumpscot River in a generations-old cotton mill.
All their cotton fabrics are woven in North Carolina and they silkscreen each piece one at a time. She mixes custom colors by hand to ensure consistent color and quality. Each design tells a bit of a story about her life in a unique way. Each person that touches her life becomes part of the visual tapestry of her work.
"I like to keep my work simple, rough and unpolished, not overly refined and hard-edged. I want people to know that I was there. I use both type and illustrated elements, marrying art and graphic design in my work...I think about what brings me joy and I try to work that into my drawings and compositions. I want things to be happy, peaceful, mindful and truly a reflection of inspired living."
